Chemical Reaction
Pb(NO3)2 + 2 KI ---> PbI2 + 2 K(NO3) In this tutorial you demonstrate how potassium iodide and lead nitrate molecules interact in an aqueous double displacement reaction. This is a double displacement reaction in which the anions and cations of two different molecules switch places, forming two entirely different compounds. You begin with Modeling Molecules and Animating the Reaction, two lessons that present the essential science behind the visualization. If you want to experiment with MAX's advanced animation and mapping techniques, the next four tutorials show how to make chemicals pouring into a beaker of water and precipitating out. Finally, in Putting it All Together, you learn how to combine the animations you have created into one master file. Level: Beginning to Intermediate © 2000 Michele Matossian |
